Chadar trek a thrilling and adventurous trek in India. In the local language “chadar” means blanket - indicating the ice that covers the river like a blanket. The chadar trek is basically performed on a frozen river called the “Zanskar River”,during the summer this river doesn’t disappoint its enthusiastic tourist as it becomes a perfect location for river rafting expedition and during the winters it transforms into an ice sheet where the famous Chadar trek is performed.
For many years Chadar trek has attracted tourist from all over the world, it is one of the most exciting and challenging treks which covers the distance of approximately 105 km on foot[reduced to 70 kms due to road construction], an average trekker completes a distance of 15–17 km each day.
Itinerary (Subjected to weather and permission)
DAY 01: Delhi Leh (Complete Rest in Leh for acclimatization)
Take the morning flight for Leh. Check into the guest house and relax the whole day. This is necessary for getting acclimatized. Overnight at the guesthouse..
DAY 02: Leh - Tilat sumdo
In the morning drive to chilling along with our porters from Zanskar, (3hrs driving) overnight at camp in Tilat sumdo.
DAY 03: Tilat sumdo - shingrak
We begin our Chadar trek by walking on the frozen Zanskar River from Tilat sumdo - shingrak. The trek is of about 5 hours. Overnight at Camp.
Distance: 9 kms,
DAY 04: shingrak - dip
Walk on the frozen Zanskar River for about 4 hours from shingrak to dip. Overnight at Camp.
Distance: 15 kms,
DAY 05: Dip – nyarak
Distance: 15 kms,
Walk for almost 4 to 5 hours from Dip to reach nyarak before Nyarak village. Over night at Camp.
DAY 06: Nyarak - dip
Walk for almost 4 to 5 hours from nyarak to dip. Over night at Camp.
DAY 07: dip - shingrak
Walk on the frozen Zanskar River for about 4 hours from dip to shingrak. Overnight at Camp
DAY 08: Shingrak - Tilat sumdo to leh
We end our Chadar trek by walking on the frozen Zanskar River from shingrak to Tilat sumdo and after reaching at Tilat sumdo we drive to leh by jeep (3hrs)....overnight at hotel.

• LEH to LEH Iternery.
• Accommodation in Guest House or Hotel at Leh for 2 days.
• 07 night stay in tents during the trek. All Veg meals during the trek.

Does Not Include:
• Any additional charges by forest department / any other authority of Ladakh.

• Medical expenses (apart from first aid).
• Tips, laundry, liquors, wines, mineral water, telephone charges, camera fee and items of personal nature.
• Any expenses arising out of unforeseen circumstances like flight delay / cancellation / hike in fare, strike or any other natural calamities or any emergency evacuation expenses.
• Any other item not mentioned in the package includes section.
• Additional charges for Porters to carry luggage.
Trekkers are advised to keep 1 Buffer day (Day 9) for any emergencies which may occur on the Chadar. Incase if the same is utilized there will be an additional charge of Rs.2600 per trekker which need to be paid at Leh.

Cancellation policy

Acclimatization
• Learn to drink Min 3 Ltrs to 5 Ltrs of Hot Water / Cold Water every day [You can start this habit 1 week before leaving for the trip].
• Start taking the “Diamox” tablet along with 1 Sachet of Electral as per the schedule below
o 1 day prior to travel Dosage 1.
o First Day in Leh Dosage [0.5].
o Continue the dosage till you complete the trek [0.5].
o Once you have start , don’t leave it in between until you reach hotel .

• Get military socks in Leh[8 Pairs].
• Sun glasses – Sunglasses are mandatory for this trek, Curved ones will cover your eyes well. No blue coloured sunglass as it diffracts. Avoid multi colour sunglasses. Glasses prevent snow blindness.
• Contact lenses are STRICTLY not allowed
• Buy a trek Stick at Leh or Buy a Trekking pole [Based on Budget].
