Pricing policy
Kalap is a Responsible Tourism initiative. You might find that the prices we quote are high. Our prices are higher because this is a community-driven and ethically-run business. The following contributes to the higher price:
1. Everyone employed in tourism at Kalap gets an ethical wage corresponding to the amount of work they are putting in. Ethical wage is always higher than 'market rates' for labour.
2. Tourism is a seasonal wage earner for the people of Kalap. It should add an appreciable amount to the annual income of the people involved.
3. A responsible tourism business has to have a reasonable profit margin to ensure that there is a positive giveback to the community involved. 25% of the profits from tourism are reinvested into community projects.

As far as those rules go, they are very simple:

2. Respect the community (people)
3. Respect the landscape
